LEAP BENEFICIARIES IN ATEBUBU-AMANTIN PAID 88TH CYCLE GRANTS

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development and the Amantin & Kasei community bank has begun the 88th cycle cash grant payment to beneficiaries’ households of the LEAP programme.

LEAP is a social protection programme for extremely poor households aimed at reducing extreme poverty by smoothening consumption and promotinh human capital development through cash grants and access to other social services.

The field cashed out begun on 26th February 2024 and ended on the 4th March 2024. The Municipality has a total of 1777 household out of which 1690 will be paid during this cycle and the remaining 87 paid after the ongoing validation of those households. A total amount of GHc256,988.00 was allocated for the Municipality.

The 88th payment cycle, household with one eligible member will receive 128.00, two eligible members will receive 152.00, three members, 176.00 and four or more will receive 212.00

Regional director of social welfare, Madam Evelyn Bansah monitored payment in the municipality when she visited the Pruso No.1 pay point where three communities were gathered to received their grants.

In her interaction with caregivers and beneficiaries she advised them to make good use of the grants to help improve their wellbeing and also use the opportunity to sensitized the beneficiaries on negative effects of teenage pregnancy and child marriage.
