SOD CUT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 24-HOUR MARKET IN AMANTIN

A site possession ceremony at which a sod was cut for the construction of a 24-hour market has been held at Amantin in the Atebubu-Amantin municipality of the Bono East region.

The model 2 facility which will comprise 96 lockable stores and 150[i] sheds will have cold storage facilities, supermarkets, warehouses, a slaughter house and a financial institution.

It will also come with a day care centre, pharmacy, police and fire posts a restaurant and food court as well as parking space for vehicles.

Works to be undertaken by New Modern World Company Limited will take 30 months to complete.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Atebubu-Amantin municipal chief executive Hon. Masud Musa Ayaaba Thomas said the execution of the project will mark the fulfillment of a campaign pledge made by the National Democratic Congress in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.

He expressed his gratitude to the Amantin Traditional Council for graciously increasing the requested 4 acre land for the project to eleven.

The Member of Parliament for the Atebubu-Amantin constituency Hon Sanja Nanja urged the project consultant and contractor to ensure a strict adherence to timelines whiles entreating the people to give them the necessary support to facilitate their work adding that the project will create job avenues for the youth of the town.

Nana Barima Osei Poku, Krontihene of the Amantin Traditional Area who chaired the function expressed his gratitude to government for the gesture and promised the support of the chiefs and people of Amantin towards a successful completion of the project.
