The Ghana Enterprises Agency and Mastercard Foundation have presented start-up kits to 89 trainees under the ’business in a box’ Bizbox project in Atebubu.
The project aims at creating decent jobs for Ghanaian youth by providing training, mentorship and start-up kits to beneficiaries to encourage entrepreneurship and improve the well-being of society.
According to Mr. Abubakar Siddique Imoru the Atebubu-Amantin municipal manager of the Business Resource Centre, the distribution of the start-up kits meant for cereal and fruit processing marks an important phase in the entrepreneurship journey of beneficiaries.
“These kits are not just tools, they are symbols of empowerment providing the necessary resources to transform their dreams into reality” he added.
Mr. Imoru expressed his appreciation to the Mastercard Foundation for its partnership and commitment to empowering the Ghanaian youth.
The Atebubu-Amantin municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Joseph Tang extolled the benefits of being self-employed and urged beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.
The Atebubu-Amantin constituency chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress NDC, Alhaji Hamidu Bukari urged beneficiaries to put the skills acquired to the benefit of others to ensure the well-being of the larger society.

Each beneficiary took home a weighing machine, gloves, apron, overall, blender and a sealing machine.
Mr. Ibrahim Yakubu who spoke on behalf of beneficiaries, thanked government and the MasterCard Foundation for the gesture and urged the youth to take advantage of such opportunities to better their lot.
