The government has presented two brand-new pick-up vehicles to the Ghana Police Service in Atebubu to enhance police operations in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality and surrounding areas.
Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Thomas Masud Musah Ayaaba, announced this during the first ordinary meeting of the assembly this year in Atebubu.
“Plans are far advanced to deploy 100 police personnel to our municipality,” he said, adding that the increased manpower will facilitate the establishment of new police stations and posts in various communities to improve security.
“The Municipal Security Council will continue to review the security situation and provide swift interventions to prevent any potential threats to the peace we currently enjoy,” Hon. Ayaaba assured.
He also expressed gratitude to security agencies, particularly the military, for providing night escorts to travelers on the Akokoa-Atebubu highway. This initiative has significantly reduced robberies along the Kumasi-Atebubu-Yeji road. The MCE urged commuters to cooperate with the military for their safety.
Hon. Ayaaba emphasized the importance of peace in the municipality’s development and called on assembly members to act as peace ambassadors in their respective communities.
