The Omanhene of the Atebubu Traditional Area, Ohempong Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, has pledged his unwavering support to the newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Atebubu-Amantin, Hon. Thomas Masud Musah Ayaaba.
The assurance came when the MCE paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene and members of the Traditional Council to formally introduce himself and seek their blessings in his new role.
During the meeting, the Omanhene expressed the Traditional Council’s dissatisfaction with certain issues that arose prior to the MCE’s nomination. He urged caution, particularly in the public statements of constituency executives, to maintain peace and unity in the area.
Commending Hon. Ayaaba for his early development efforts, Ohempon Dr. Asiamah promised to collaborate closely with the Municipal Assembly to advance progress in the traditional area.
The chiefs also highlighted key challenges facing the municipality, including malfunctioning streetlights, armed robbery incidents, potholes on the Ejura-Atebubu-Yeji highway, and the non-functional fire tender at the Ghana National Fire Service.
In his remarks, Hon. Ayaaba sought the Traditional Council’s partnership to leave a lasting legacy by the end of his tenure. He pledged to harness the strong relationship between himself, the Member of Parliament, the Regional Minister, and traditional leaders to improve water supply, security, and sanitation—with the goal of making Atebubu-Amantin one of the cleanest municipalities in the region.
The MCE also announced plans to construct new school buildings and CHPS compounds this year to enhance education and healthcare delivery.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking assembly officials and executives of the ruling party.
